Heart's Kindred

Inger was a a hard man, tough and strong. He finds and odd traveling partner in Lory Moor, a bride-to-be set on escaping her arranged marriage. During their journey, Inger is forced to come to terms with his bestial and bloodthirsty nature. He hears news of a war brewing in Europe, what we now know as World War I. Inger is ready to join the army, any army that will take him, and fight. However, as he listens to the stories of Lory and other women, Inger discovers that we are all "heart's kindred" to the rest of humanity.

Written by Pulitzer Prize winning author Zona Gale, Heart's Kindred is a book written at the beginning of a devastating war, but ultimately brings a message of peace.
