Hope Farm feels so alive with the restlessness of the bush that we could almost hear the crickets chirrup and smell the incense of wood smoke on the air. Thirteen-year-old Silver is dragged from ashram to ashram by her young hippie mother, Ishtar, and a steady stream of her boyfriends and lovers. Silver and Ishtar have nothing to call their own except a few old duffel bags and an Indian bedspread—until one day Ishtar falls hard for a rogue named Miller. We absolutely loved Peggy Frew’s sparse, poetic prose, which brings the slow demise of the book’s mother-daughter relationship into sharp focus.

Fantastic read. It brings me back to the 60's and 70's when Bob Dylan was singing 'Times are a changing' and we all thought we were a different generation. The rise of meditation, yoga and hippies. Peggy has a way with words the characters are very real and jump out at you that you don't want to put the book down. Can't wait for her next book.
