Publisher Description
Once upon a time there was a boy with a wicked tongue...
Before Cardan was a cruel prince or a wicked king, he was a faerie child with a heart of stone. In this sumptuously illustrated tale, Holly Black reveals a deeper look into the dramatic life of Elfhame's enigmatic high king. This tale includes delicious details of life before The Cruel Prince, an adventure beyond The Queen of Nothing, and familiar but pivotal moments from The Folk of the Air trilogy, told wholly from Cardan's perspective.
This new instalment in the Folk of the Air series is a return to the heart-racing romance, danger, humour and drama that enchanted readers everywhere.
Customer Reviews
Lots of story in a shorter series
Really interesting books with lots of twists and turns, I wish there was more of the love story throughout as I kept waiting for it to be more about them, but I enjoyed it anyway.
Pretty good (2.5⭐️)
Overall it was pretty good for understanding Cardan’s childhood a bit more and kinda get it in his POV but I felt it wasn’t very eventful or exciting especially considering it
was $16.99 (little expensive in my opinion) to buy. So I kind of liked it but it also bored me a bit and it took me around 2 or 3 days (can’t exactly remember) to read.
Don’t bother
This book is definitely not worth the price tag, it jumps around and is very hard to follow, it was very short and really didn’t give me any valuable character development
