I am not what happened to me

I had heard this saying ... "I am not what happened to me" and I've adored it.
My friend Paul ... said it to me ... repeatedly ... to help me disconnect of a ridiculous state of depression which was overwhelming me ... every single day.
Treating it as an anchor which could help me ... create a disconnection from the past.
My weird past.
All the illusory dramas which i had experienced ... especially in love relationships.
All the ones metamorphosed into traumas ... carrying them for too long into my soul ... instead of releasing it was all just an experience ... and a life lesson.
And ... i should treat it accordingly. Because ....
Most certainly there will be other lessons too.
So ... i should readapt myself on the stage of the real life.
Understand ... the time.
Treating the past accordingly ... but not being trapped anymore into it. And ... smile... Live into the now. Enjoying it.
Because ... most certainly .... I am not what happened to me.
