Gretchen never really felt like she belonged anywhere.  Living life like an orphan, and then with the homeless, it was difficult for her to believe that she would ever be wanted...that she would ever be noticed.

But working with Jenna Farrow changed all of that; it gave her a sense of purpose, but not one of fulfillment.  Despite everything she'll do to survive, Gretchen Briar will do anything to thrive...anything to achieve her goals; even over-working herself.

Unfortunately for her, when Tristan finds out that she's determined to work herself into an early grave to get what she wants, both he and his mother are determined for her to visit their ancestral home for a change of scenery and a change of pace. However, no one could have imagined that a vacation in Germany would lead to so much more than a little relaxation.
