Alone. In the depths. Drowning. He saved her then. Can she save him now?

Jeremy Finnegan saved his co-counselor from drowning with a daring rescue and some quick CPR.

He never knew what happened to her afterwards. Years later he collides with her on the same California campus where he has worked since the accident. She doesn't recognize him. Gone is the clean-cut kid of fifteen years ago and in his place stands a handsome, though scruffy, college professor in need of a haircut.

Noel Welsh looks up into the eyes that have haunted her nightmares. Alone, in the depths, she'd been sure she would die. When she awoke in the hospital, she had no memories of the drowning. The video of her rescue had already gone viral and her parents took her out of the country to avoid the reporters descending upon them.

Jeremy Finnegan is now a renowned atheist speaker, about to embark on a research study about the nature of consciousness. When he learns Noel has applied for a position in his study, he tips the scales in her favor, and unknowingly draws her into the episodes of violence on campus triggered by his atheist beliefs.

As an unknown adversary transfers his attention to Noel, Jeremy knows he has put her in mortal danger. Desperate to save her from this latest threat, he strives to keep her close. not knowing that this time he will need her to save him.

What Others Say About This Book:

Christine Anderson demonstrates an incredible talent for drawing readers in from the very first page. Her storytelling is descriptive, immersive, and emotionally charged, making it nearly impossible to stop reading. In this powerful, fast moving narrative Anderson explores the raw, often painful, terrain of human relationships-both romantic and familial-with striking honesty and depth.

What makes this story resonate is its authenticity. The characters don't just face dramatic obstacles for the sake of plot-they wrestle with personal trauma, confront longstanding family tensions, and navigate the fragile yet redemptive nature of love, both human and divine. Through it all, Anderson weaves in a meaningful and compelling exploration of faith, not as a simple solution but as a deeply personal and evolving force that shapes the characters' journeys. This novel is a heartfelt and thought-provoking read, perfect for anyone who appreciates character-driven stories with emotional weight and spiritual depth.
