Publisher Description
At forty years old, a successful writer, husband and father, no longer toiling on offshore drilling rigs, was Paul Carter happily nestled in the cotton wool of suburban life enjoying the fruits of his labour? Was he f**k!With his manic life left far behind and the perfect opportunity to take it easy stretched before him what else would a middle-aged, bike obsessed, man want? Yes, that's right, he'd want to be the first guy to ride around Australia on an underpowered experimental motorcycle that runs on used cooking oil, wouldn't he? Preferably without getting hit by a semi-trailer full of bridge parts. Is he out of his mind? Quite possibly.Embark on a rollickingly, downright dangerous and often unhinged quest that starts on an environmentally friendly motorcycle built on a shoestring budget by students, and ends with a plan to break the motorcycle land speed record for bio fuel.Carter is back to his old balls-to-the-wall style of writing, prepare to laugh out loud.

So funny but humbling as well
This is the third book I have read in a blink about Paul, his mates, & his mad ideas. It’s probably a blokes book but hey I laughed & giggle through the language, drunk & disorderly, mad feckers & their journey around Australia. Will I tempt the fourth? Even if you read one I guarantee you will be hooked & shouting from the roof tops for all you’re mates to read.
Wonderful read never laughed so hard a a book in all my life '
Paul's story is amazing, having just ridden 4000km in 8 days to celebrate turning 50 I can relate his journey. (Albeit in a small way as I was riding a BMW GS).
I have NEVER laughed so much at book into life. My wife thought I was nuts giggling like a child with tears streaming down my face. Paul has a way of writing humor that is typically Australian and will have you in fits.
Paul I salute your tenacity, humor and efforts, thanks for the story mate.
A highly recommended read.
Is That thing Diesel
Another great read from one of Australia's best authors, like the first two books by Paul I couldn't put it down.
