There are prowly monsters howling loudly and drooling monsters from the steamy swamp. There are wild, woolly mountain monsters and spiky, spooky monsters from outer space. And they all have one thing in common - they LOVE underpants!

This hilarious Underpants story is hairy, scary - and silly! You'll never think of monsters in the same way again!

Which character would you like to meet in real life?

Zach C - The monster in the desert because he's fat and big.
Zach D - The monsters in the sea because they look like dragons.
Dylan - The monsters in the sea because they are wearing jewellery on their pants and girls wear jewellery.

Which character would you want as your best friend?

Zach D - The monsters on the moon, but I wouldn't touch them because they are spiky.
Zach C - The DJ monster because he plays disco music.

Did you learn any new words or anything new about this book?

Zach D, Zach C & Dylan - Monsters like underpants.

Thomas - Monsters never really want underpants.

If you could change one thing about this book what would you change?

Zach C - I would make people in the book and make them look funny in underpants.
Zach D - I would make the sea monsters look like people with long necks and long tails.
Dylan - I would make the desert monsters horns into big fat ears.
Thomas - I would make the moon monsters have spiky feet to stripy feet.

Why do you think the author wrote this book?

Zach C - To entertain us because monsters aren't real and monsters would wear underpants.
Zach D - To entertain us because monsters aren't real.
Dylan - To entertain us with monsters wearing underpants.
Thomas - Because she thought it would be funny.

Overall

The mystery of the first page and what was to come had the children's attention straight away. By the second page they were all laughing. With each new monster the children were discussing the different types of underpants each monster were wearing as well as the different shapes and sizes that monsters come in. The children were very entertained by this book, each page they were talking and telling me what was different about each monster or that it reminded them of another animal.
At the end of the book the children were all informing me that monsters aren't real but it was funny they were all wearing underpants.

Special thanks to Simon and Schuster Australia.
