THE COMPELLING NOVEL FROM SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER PHILIPPA GREGORY

'There is only one bond that I trust: between a woman and her sisters. We never take our eyes off each other. In love and in rivalry, we always think of each other.'

When Katherine of Aragon is brought to the Tudor court as a young bride, the oldest princess, Margaret, takes her measure.  With one look, each knows the other for a rival, an ally, a pawn, destined – with Margaret’s younger sister Mary – to a sisterhood unique in all the world. The three sisters will become the queens of England, Scotland and France.

United by family loyalties and affections, the three queens find themselves set against each other.  Katherine commands an army against Margaret and kills her husband James IV of Scotland. But Margaret’s boy becomes heir to the Tudor throne when Katherine loses her son. Mary steals the widowed Margaret’s proposed husband, but when Mary is widowed it is her secret marriage for love that is the envy of the others. As they experience betrayals, dangers, loss and passion, the three sisters find that the only constant in their perilous lives is their special bond, more powerful than any man, even a king.

Philippa Gregory, always consistent

well written, colourful and fills out the history from the woman's point of view. Not as fantastic as the Kings Curse, but still a welcome addition to the Tudor series.

Worst one yet

I've loved most of the Tudor series but this one I could barely get through. An endlessly whining and shallow protagonist who only cared about clothes and whether or not someone else had better than her or not. Sure some of these kinds of people exist and would have back then but it's just endless chapter after chapter of the same drivel with hardly any historical backstory to speak of. It's almost like Gregory has fleshed out a Wikipedia entry with the inane intellectual musings of a stereotypical cheerleader. I literally felt like I was losing IQ points reading this from Margaret's perspective. Surely it would have been better to see the point of view of all three characters?? Three Sisters, Three Queens was a bit of a reach in terms of a title. Here's hoping The Last Tudor stands up on its own unlike this one which appears to be riding the money train and not much else

Truely Captivating

The story Philippa has written for Margaret Tudor is Captivating. You fall in love with a spoilt little girl jostling her sisters in rivalry and watch her grow and mature into a thoughtful and determined woman.

Philippa has done it again!

I'd love to see Philippa re-release her novels all woven together in a timeline so you can see one woman to the next how this period in history unfolded. The Constant Princess; Three Sisters, Three Queens; The Other Boleyn Girl.
