If you’re looking for a weekend read or a delightful way to pass a rainy day, Dani Atkins’ tearjerker of a novel is just the ticket. We were immediately hooked on this story of two women with a complicated, unhappy history who are thrust back together under unusually tragic circumstances. Atkins—the author of the terrific Fractured—is a wizard of storytelling, building up the suspense around Charlotte and Ally’s animosity and piercing our hearts with three grand love stories. Her two female protagonists are vividly drawn and utterly captivating.

I know I’ve read a good book when my children constantly ask me why I’m laughing or why I’m crying when I’m reading it. This book made me do both constantly and was such a beautiful story, I never wanted it to end.
