Author
Avuncular Australian financial journalist best known for his market reports on ABC News and his columns in The Australian, although he’s worked almost everywhere during 45 year career. Holding down jobs at Aunty and News Ltd simultaneously is testament to his avuncularity.
Structure
Part One: Big banks did bad, bad things and we let ’em. Discuss.
Part Two: How to protect yourself financially when, not if, they, or someone like them, does it again.
Prose
Concise, crisp journalism as you’d expect. A bit of repetition here and there, but what the hell. Some of the points he makes bear repeating.
Bottom line
The history of Australian banking 1970s to the present is well covered and interesting. The financial advice is solid, but hardly new.
