KISS ON THE ROCK
SOMETIMES AN INTERRUPTION IS REALLY AN INVITATION TO SOMETHING BETTER
Publisher Description
An interruption gets in the way of life. I experienced a major interruption in 2003: an unexpected job layoff and nine months of unemployment. At first I didn't know what to do with myself so to stay motivated, I began hiking a certain "rock". It provided daily structure during a tough time of many unknowns. Since income is useful, I would eventually need to return to work but I really liked my new routine; I was in great shape and king of my day. So employment actually became another interruption that separated me from the rock. These life interruptions were irritating. It wasn't cancer or the death of a loved one but I had my own agenda and speed bumps were not at all syncing with my plans. Two years removed, I was reunited with the rock. I knew this place so well but everything seemed new thanks to the gift of perspective. Better yet, something happened on my return hike. Something that provided great clarity. Could an interruption really be an invitation to something better?
