Inside the depraved mind of child killer, Derek Ernest Percy.
Young. White. High IQ. Middle-class family. Naval rating. A portrait of a yuppie success story? No. A portrait of child killer, Derek Ernest Percy. In this definitive, graphically chilling account of Percy's life, a man dubbed by a prison officer as 'Australia's answer to Hannibal Lecter', award-winning true-crime author Debi Marshall applies her investigative journalism skills to a forensic examination of the crimes, the man and his modus operandi. Informed by exclusive material never before seen - poignant and insightful interviews with Percy's mother, victims’ families, psychiatrists, police officers and former colleagues - Marshall also takes us on her personal journey as she seeks to unravel the truth about the monster whose lonely, idiosyncratic character has deceived the best psychiatric minds for 40 years.
Is Derek Percy responsible for Australia's worst unsolved child abductions and murders? Is he mad - or just bad?

Very thorough and very well written
Lambs to the slaughter
Very detailed book...every question i was thinking the book would eventually answer it....i like that in a book....
I was left thinking that could the father been also involved as he was younger than Elaine, it doesnt state how much younger though, and also that he didnt seemed to be liked either....could he of coached his son? Could someone else be doing these things aswell as Derek? knowing he was a weirdo perhaps thats why some didnt add up to his sort of ways of killings? So he could be blamed for all?? His past is of concerned with how he was raised aswell, i think he has been very confused and as puberty sets in he has no answers because he wasnt told or learnt any of his confusions and left basically isolated to work life out himself:(. Very sad indeed....somewhere along the way in his upbringing he has definately had things done to him but its by who is the question.....Although he has never admitted to them even on his death bed makes me wonder that if he did do others he may not want to shame his family who are still alive to go through with more of his secrets or that perhaps his father was involved.....So much thought in this book makes me more alert of abductions especially having two boys of my own....Is a good eye opener book....Thankyou Debi....
