Publisher Description

The Life of Adam and Eve was a popular early Christian-era work, that is believed to have originally been a Jewish texts, and was then adopted by the earliest Christians. Based on the references to the Tablets of Seth, the original Latin translation was clearly done by a Sethian Gnostic, however the was quickly adopted by Christians. There is no way to internally date the text, however, based on the number of derivative texts in Latin, Armenian, Slavonic, Georgian, Syrian, and Arabic, it is accepted as dating to the 1st-century AD at the latest, however, it could be a few centuries older.
