Publisher Description
Introduction Technology is fundamentally changing how we teach and learn. Is this assertion true? It is something many would wish to believe, as education struggles to re-shape itself in response to the perceived challenges of the early 21st century. Certainly, "too many educational institutions still lack serious leadership engagement with the innovative application of digital technologies" (Laurillard, 2007: xvi), but there are bottom-up change processes at work, with many researchers and education professionals exploring more effective approaches to 'design for learning' (Beetham & Sharpe, 2007) and learners becoming more engaged as co-creators of experiences and resources.
