Assassins in Edinburgh. A Russian crime boss. A potential gang war.

Relic Black and Norwegian assassin Astrid, have two contracts to carry out in Edinburgh. But following the killings, they learn the victims are linked to an organised crime gang in the city, as well as to a former member of the Russian mafia. Realising a mysterious stranger is tracking them, they return to the scene of one of the murders in a bid to find out why.

Meanwhile, bent cop Rebecca McKenzie has problems of her own to deal with in Inverness when a familiar face turns up at police headquarters. Brought in to take charge of the McMullen murder, the new man has an agenda that has nothing to do with solving a crime.
