Dr. Nina Benitez might be an astrophysicist and a scientist down to her bones, but she also believes in true love and happily ever after—and won't settle for anything less. After a rocky end to her first semester teaching at the University of Montana, she's looking forward to a new school year and a fresh start in the small town of Rifle Creek. When she meets her roommate's work partner, a sexy, hard-edged detective, Nina is immediately intrigued. However, it's soon clear they're like oil and water. But when she's confronted by the painful past event she wanted to forget, she faces an even greater danger. A predator is bent on silencing her forever, and Nina's only hope of survival is the unattainable man who's captured her heart.

Lethal Edge by Kaylea Cross
Great reading beautiful love story ….and when you least expect it, you’re on the edge of your seat.
Trigger Warning!!!
First of all this book needs a TRIGGER WARNING!
If you have triggers related to assault (sexual or otherwise) or the subject of date rape drugs or being drugged in a club (or anywhere else) or the subject makes you uncomfortable then this book will not be for you.
The word rape is flung around by pretty much everyone once it’s revealed to be the “dark secret”. Though it is pretty obvious from an early point that that was the big thing in this book. Again if this triggers you DON’T READ THIS BOOK.
Putting those concerns aside it was... ok? The plot felt a little weak and convoluted and seemed to be caught between big action mystery and small town action romance. I mean the cops we follow aren’t even really on the case so there’s no police solving involved just coincidence that the two love interests know each other and happened to be connected by this case.
Also the POVs jump around to other characters. Sure the two Mains and the Bad Guy sure, but the friends? They have their own books! Don’t give them screen time here it feels like a waste of time or like the writers trying to justify having another books in the series. It’s annoying, STOP IT!
