Publisher Description
The first public enactment of the play took place after more than thirty years of its writing. It was publicly performed in London in 1925.
On the other hand, “Mrs. Warren’s Profession” opened in New Haven, CT and New York City, in the United States in 1905.
The first night performance of the play was completely sold out in New York. The American critics complained that it was an indecent play, but the play was sold out. Theater-goers bought the tickets for as much as thirty dollars per ticket.
