In the rock-breakers’ town of Happiness, folks call it like they see it. Of course when Longarm shows up near-frostbitten—with a nasty knife wound courtesy of the prisoner he’s lugging—he’d prefer to call it a canker in the devil’s backside. But when he finds two poor bastards swinging, the constable missing, a cryptic note, and hears strange screams in the attic, Longarm’s curious as a cat.
