Publisher Description
The runaway New York Times bestseller!
Can a simple concept shift your entire world? Bob certainly thinks so. When it comes to loving your neighbors, rather than focusing on having the "right answers" or checking the "right boxes," what if you decide to simply DO love? To shamelessly show love and grace to those around you? What would that look like?
It might look like spending sixteen days in the Pacific Ocean with five guys and a crate of canned meat. It might look like taking your kids on a world tour to eat ice cream with heads of state. It might look like taking a road trip with a stressed-out college student--even though you just got married a few days before.
In Love Does, Bob shows you:
how to live a fully engaged lifehow to stop putting things off until "next time" and instead find your place of imagination, whimsy, and wonder todaythat God usually chooses ordinary people to get things done
When love does, life gets interesting. Light and fun, unique and profound, the lessons drawn from Bob's life and attitude in this collection of stories just might inspire you to be secretly incredible, too. If you love Love Does, don't forget to check out Everybody, Always and Dream Big for more of Bob's delightful and inspiring stories!
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
It's not every author who puts his or her phone number in the front of a book, inviting readers to call if any ideas "ping" them. But judging by the breadth of experiences retailed in this volume of autobiographical stories, Goff, a successful lawyer and founder of the international child advocacy group Restore International, has charted his own optimistic and ebullient course for decades without veering anywhere near the beaten track. In a folksy and candid style that sometimes seems to beg for editorial ministrations, the writer spins some fascinating yarns, from the winsome sit-in that won him a place in law school to a family world tour prompted by questions his children sent global leaders after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Paired with reflections on God's purposes and faithful living, the stories are engaging and often funny. However, a reader is left satiated, questioning whether perhaps a writer with a wider-angled lens and a tauter style could have tied the various strands together in a way that truly does this eccentric and apparently eternally hopeful man the justice he probably deserves.

Bob Goff.. wow
Wow
I’m one of those people who does not like people. I have my reasons. But those reasons, have seemed to have disappeared after reading your book. The title of your book was always the first words that pop up, but I only ‘got it’ during the last 3 to 4 chapters. I’m a bit slow, I admit. This would be the first book I finished in 2 years having had children and the new parent life. Your life is an inspiration and I’m so happy to have read about someone who is still living his story! I wish you - and know - that you will achieve more amazing things and help more people in need. I am hoping that what I read does not just disappear in me and hope that it will awaken a need for me to step up and help other people.. connect with other people.. but I will still be cautious. But, God will lead the way all the time. I am very grateful to have read a book about a person who follows Christ in action in a world where people follow in tradition, ritual without heart. I’m curious to know how that hotline is going? What a brave thing to give out your number! I’m glad to have been a part of Restore Leadership! EVERYONE READING, READ THIS BOOK! It’s like a splash of cold water on your face.
Wonderful inspiring fun book.
I loved this book. It is one of those books that really captured my imagination and my heart. I was sad when I turned the last page. It inspired me and challenged me to REALLY live, not just settle for going through the motions. To stop and look for opportunities to love and engage life. I loved Bob Goffs writing style as he captured the lessons he's learned from his life and opened up a window that allowed me to catch a glimpse of his unusual outlook and attitude toward life. One that both inspired and challenged me. I'll probably read this again but more than that I'll live out what he talked about in these pages and make his lessons part of my life. It's the kind of book that sticks with you like that :)
Highly recommended.
