Loving your neighbor is a practice, not a feeling. And most of us were never taught the specific practices that make love durable enough to change things. Love Shows Up: Six Practices That Can Heal the World is a study for Christians who want to move from good intentions to real action in their communities and relationships.

Drawing on Scripture and the example of Christ, Robert Johnson, location pastor of Resurrection Lee's Summit and a thirty-year ordained elder in the UMC, and Michael Adam Beck, Director of Fresh Expressions for The United Methodist Church, explore six essential ways love takes concrete shape: stepping into presence, listening and welcoming, forgiving and reconciling, serving and sacrificing, persisting with hope, and organizing to resist injustice. With pastoral warmth and practical wisdom, they show how these practices build communities of compassion, justice, and resilience, and how ordinary believers, practicing love faithfully, can become agents of healing in a fractured world.
