Oooh, a new JR Ward book - bing! - auto buy.
This book as all the quality writing and character growth we have come to expect from The Warden (J R Ward). She never shies away from giving her characters a rough backstory, and this is certainly the case in this story too. The characters are loveable and relatable, and as you turn the pages faster and faster and lose track of the rest of the world, you can’t help but root for them.
The complex and well thought out story arc of the Black Dagger Brotherhood world continues in this book, while most of the focus is on Balthazar’s and Erika’s story. Their tale is not fully resolved, but it comes to a satisfying conclusion.
And just a note to The Warden: I know Lassiter’s book is coming out soon, and of course he needs his own tortured past, but honestly, if you can’t play with your characters nicely, perhaps we, the readers, will confiscate them from you until you learn to do so! Poor Lassiter. My heart ached for him at the end of this book.
Another Brotherhood mating.
Balthazar has lived with a demon possession for several months, it is taking a toll on him mentally and physically. He has been told that “true love” could save him. He doesn’t believe in it or in his worthiness to have it. Erica Saunders is a homicide detective with a brutal past, she carries physical and mental scars also her memory has been tampered with, although she doesn’t know why or by whom. The two of them are about to have a head-on collision with a vengeful demon trying to throw a spanner in the works.
