Luke likes to be alone. He doesn't have many friends. He loves to watch the river flowing past his cubbyhouse. He sees the river starting to flood. The class bully is being swept down the river. He doesn't see himself as a hero, but if he doesn't do something the class bully will drown. Will Luke be able to help him in time?

I chose this book for my 8year old little boy cooper as I loved the cover art - ( always wanted a cubby house like this). What a nice surprise when I read the dedication to find that it was dedicated to all the kids who went through the Queensland floods! (yes we are Queenslanders). It was a traumatic time and even now my kids talk about it especially in times of heavy rain. It's good for them to realize that even though bad things happen good things can come of them and that in life an act of kindness can forge an unlikely but amazing friendship!
