Lunenburg Letters: The Legacy

The original immigrants to Lunenburg, Nova Scotia have left a great legacy to those of us who have followed after, a legacy of courage, hard work, humility, endurance, perseverance, loyalty, and faith.

Now that the Mattern and Hess families have been reunited, these characteristics will stand them in good stead as they face the day to day life in early Lunenburg, as well as the effects of the American Revolutionary War on the province of Nova Scotia. 

Lunenburg Letters: The Legacy picks up the story of these two families once again, telling of their daily life as war comes to the colonies to the south. Nova Scotia stayed loyal to the British crown, while the rebels considered them the fourteenth colony. This caused hard feelings on both sides, resulting in privateer raids and brining the war dangerously close to home for the residents of Lunenburg.
