Martin Chuzzlewit

Martin Chuzzlewit is a classic novel written by Charles Dickens and first published in 1844. When young Martin embarks on a voyage that is destined to affect the fortunes of his family and his love. A story about the contrasting destinies of two descendants of the brothers Chuzzlewit, both born and bred to the same heritage of selfishness, Martin, by good fortune escapes and Jonas, fatally, does not. This comic masterpiece is the last of Dickens' picaresque novels and introduces one of his greatest villains, Seth Pecksniff.
