Publisher Description
Sometimes, the road you're on leads to the last place you expected—home.
Kerry "Mercury" Dawson has always lived life on his terms—riding fast, working hard, and keeping emotional connections at arm's length. The motorcycle club gave this former foster kid his first taste of family, but it comes at a cost. After a near-fatal accident and an ultimatum from his boss, Kerry's future hangs in the balance.
Enter Lucy—an E.R. nurse with a heart of gold and a backbone of steel. She's seen firsthand the danger in Kerry's world, but something about him makes it impossible to walk away. She's determined to show him there's more to life than riding on the edge.
When Kerry is forced to choose between loyalty to the club and the chance for something real, his world begins to unravel. Can he escape the shadows of his past and build a future with Lucy? Or will his old life drag him back down a road he swore he'd never ride again?

Clean, quick romance with HEA
This short story of Merc (Kerry) and Lucy definitely packs a powerful punch! They meet at an accident scene, where Merc has crashed a motorbike, and Lucy is an ER nurse who happens to come across it.
I loved that Merc learns from his crash that there might be more that he wants out of life other than being in a MC. Once he is given an ultimatum and gets to know Lucy a bit better, he realizes that his life can still have meaning outside of the club and he decides to what’s necessary to get out.
Lucy is strong minded and has no problem speaking hard truths. As the story is written entirely from Merc’s POV you don’t get to see her internal thoughts, which is something I would have preferred. I always love knowing what both characters are thinking!
Overall, I really enjoyed this story which spanned a realistic timeline - so it’s not instalove. It’s about Merc realizing that he wants more out of life and working to get it. This is a clean, quick romance with a HEA.
I received an ARC of this novella and I voluntarily leave this honest review
