Publisher Description

Wanted: American nanny for an adorable four-year old. Must be able to handle a moody, brooding, sexy British boss.

I'm a single father, a lawyer and some say the most serious man in London. I'm completely focused on raising my four-year-old daughter.

Since my wife walked out three years ago, the only woman who has ever caught my eye is the strictly off-limits sister-in-law of my best friend, Autumn Lumen.

But temptation is easy to resist because Autumn is only visiting London from Oregon.

Until she moves to London. The nanny quits. And she's the only woman for the job.

Mr. Smithfield is a stand alone novel in the Mister Series.

Smithfield adored

Once again a great read from LB! Loved the characters - a younger person can keep you young and an older person can be wise and know what they want. And the two want each other. Love, love!!

All the feels

This author knows how to draw us in and captivate us with her characters and their stories and Mr Smithfield was everything i have come to expect from the very talented Ms Bay. Single parent stories are amongst my favourite reads so as soon as I saw the blurb for this one I knew I needed to read it and let me just say Gabriel and Autumn’s story ticked all my boxes.
Gabriel is a man I’m sure like me you will fall hard and fast for, he is swoon worthy, caring and more importantly devoted to his daughter Bethany. What can I say about Autumn apart from she fun, generous, caring and someone we would all love as a friend.
Autumn has been hired as Bethany’s nanny and right from the word go the attraction between her and Gabriel is hard to miss but he is her brothers best friend, she is the hired help and there is an age gap so will this couple risk everything by crossing the line.....
Mr Smithfield entertained me, I adored the characters and their story but as you would expect from this author nothing runs smoothly and I was certainly kept on the edge of my seat wondering if there was going to be a HEA. Gabriel may not be looking for a relationship but fate works in mysterious ways and it seems Autumn is the one to break through his broody, gruff exterior. I loved the relationship he has with his daughter but what took this book to another level was watching the relationship grow between this couple as lines are crossed, and barriers are broken down.
If you are looking for an entertaining, fun yet emotional read look no further than Mr Smithfield.

Loved it

I love single parent stories and Mr. Smithfield was an entertaining read that had me riveted from the first to the last word. I fell hard and fast for Gabriel, such a swoon worthy, loving and devoted father to his daughter Bethany. Autumn is a fun loving, generous, caring woman who is hired to be Bethany’s nanny.
What neither Gabriel or Autumn count on is the attraction that sizzles between them despite their differences in age. Complicating matters even more is that Gabriel is her brother in laws best friend. I loved the relationship that Autumn develops with Bethany, it was so heart warming.
There is so much more to Gabriel than the broody, gruff exterior he shows to the world and I loved the relationship he shares with Bethany. Autumn is such a happy woman that he is hard pressed not to smile when around her. I really enjoyed watching them explore the feelings that were developing between them.
As the relationship becomes more serious, Louise Bay throws a spanner or two into the mix and it appears that they may be doomed to part ways. I have to say there were times that I feared that Gabriel and Autumn would not get their happily ever after. It was great to see some familiar faces make an appearance as it added an additional layer of enjoyment to the story.
Ms. Bay has another winner on her hands in my humble opinion.
