Derwin and Elliot meet in a storm of lust. Derwin’s Oddity is fed by the pain of others, but he only wants what’s freely given. Elliot loves pain, but needs safety and a way off the streets before he can allow it. They may be able to solve each other’s problems . . . if they can survive long enough to work together.

Murder Once Seen
I totally fell for Elliot with his street smarts, his inner strength, his cockiness, his vulnerability and his caring attitude with a strong need to be loved. And Derwin, lost at first, determined to find out who had killed Grady and why, conflicted with using Elliot to help him solve the crime and the feelings growing between them.
There are three threads to this story; Elliot’s life on the streets and his obligation to protect Theresa and the children, Derwin and his work but mostly his need to solve Grady’s murder, and the feeling that, more and more, he wants to protect Elliot. It’s all held together with J T Hall making you care for her characters and with a tight, interesting story-line.
Five stars.
