Debut author Lawrence's writing is assured, though pacing and characterization take second place to the milieu. Aria is surrounded by gorgeous yet bland secondary characters, and it takes a while to warm up to her predicament. Ages 12 up.

Great Read!
This book is pretty amazing! It's set in a believable future, with mostly believable characters and crazy powerful mystics. I read the second half of the book in one night, which may be why I found the ending a little abrupt and why I didn't fully care for some of the characters... I loved it, though! I recommend it to fans of Uglies and Matched as a future-fun read. 7.5/10!
