On behalf of Leominster Credit Union, President and CEO Gordon R. Edmonds recently presented a check for $2,500 to the Boys & Girls Club of North Central Massachusetts. The funds will support programs directed at area youths, ages 8 to 18, who develop the qualities they need to become responsible citizens and leaders. Carree Villeneuve graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with highest honors on May 21. While there, she completed 67 credits and received an associate's degree in early childhood education and maintained a GPA of 3.9. During her time at Quinsigamond, she volunteered several times with Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society she was inducted into last April. Most recently, Phi Theta visited Paul Newman's The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, for seriously ill children, in Ashford, Conn. She is a member of the NAEYC, an organization dedicated to the education and development of young children, and additionally in March she attended MassAEYC Annual Conference in Westford, accepted a gold stole and tassel for volunteer work with Phi Theta, and received an Outstanding Student Award from the faculty at QCC. In the near future, she will be pursuing a lead teacher position with the ability to plan curriculum and foster children's development and learning.
