Publisher Description
"Cassandra's Dream" is the third and final film in director Woody Allen's London trilogy, the first being "Match Point," the sleek and nasty tale of a murderer who wants to keep his hooks into the British upper class, and the second, "Scoop," a comedy about magic and murder that blends a bit of Theodore Dreiser's epic novel "An American Tragedy" with the tale of Jack the Ripper. I like both these movies. This time around, Allen, who, as is usually the case, has written the screenplay alone, visits some middle-class English lads who have an interest in achieving a place in life a bit higher than their social status merits. This is Britain, after all, which continues to polish to a high sheen the brass ring of titles and empowerment.
