On January 7th, 1943, Nikola Tesla died, (allegedly) alone and largely forgotten, in a New York hotel room, which was paid for by the small stipend given to him by the Government of Yugoslavia. How did this man, who is one of only two Americans to have a unit of electrical measurement named in his honor, end up the way he did? How come this man who received fifteen honorary degrees from famous universities worldwide, including Yale and Columbia in the United States and who also received fourteen Awards of Merit from other world class groups, is treated as a footnote in many science books and institutions and is sometimes outrightly not mentioned? How come one of his closest friends refutes some of the negative aspects written about Tesla in history books and instead insists that Tesla died a rich man? This book will explore the rollercoaster life and times of Nikola Tesla, including his early life, his education, his relationships, his inventions, his mysteriousness and his incomparable legacy.
