Nonsense Drolleries

Now a classic poem, "The Owl and the Pussy-Cat" was first published in 1871 in Nonsense Songs, Stories, Botany and Alphabets by Edward Lear. Featuring an owl, a pig, a turkey and a cat, the story tells of the love between the title characters who get married in the land "where the Bong-tree grows." The poem has been the inspiration for songs, movies, television shows and sequels and continues to be popular among readers of all ages over 140 years after its creation.
