A lonesome man keeps his vigil in an extrasolar space station. Ships come and go until one day, he is confronted with the truth of his existence... Meanwhile, a brash businessman on Mars faces tough adversaries at work, but soon faces an even bigger and unforeseen crisis. He is forced to make an impossible decision, but will it be enough to keep him alive?

Brad Boötes' seminal effort in science fiction, Obsidian's Child is the beginning of what might (with your help) become a sweeping epic set in the 22nd century.
