Reynolds in top form!

An intelligent and compelling sequel to Blue Remembered Earth. On the Steel Breeze uses a clever narrative device in the form of the shared memories of the three iterations of the main protagonist, allowing the page turning events to unfold across the two settings and multiple ages of this operatic epic. Personally, I find the universe of these two novels a more hopeful vision of the future than the rather bleak (yet equally compelling) universe of the Revelation Space novels. All in all an excellent read. Highly recommended.
