One Shot
BJ Harvey has done it again. I could not put this story down. No words I write could ever do this story the justice that it deserves. There were times that I wanted to throw my kindle across the room but knew if I did, I would be running to get it again because I just had to keep going. I had been in a major book funk and found myself not being able to read anything until One Shot. This is by far one of my all time favourite reads to date and my top read of 2017.
One Shot is the story of Kenzie and Millen. Kenzie, a sassy bartender who makes a pact never to sleep with her patrons, throws that out the window when she meets Millen who charms his way into her world. The chemistry is evident from the beginning but there is something about Millen that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I wanted to hate him but I couldn't. Lana on the other hand, well Karma needed to hit her with something hard.
One Shot will hook you with the prologue and keep you glued until the very end. Hold on tight, to your kindles that is, and enjoy the ride that is Kenzie and Millen.
Cringeworthy!
Very frustrating! Another book that had AMAZING reviews, started ok in the sample then headed south once I purchased. Danielle Steel comparisons in every chapter. Maybe also eliminate the blank pages. No point trying to fluff this story out.
Definitely worth a shot
From the end of the prologue this book had me on the edge of my seat, captivated and anxious. When Kenzie and Millen meet, the power of their attraction is like a current sent straight to the heart. When the universe delivers you the one person that you know is your forever only to have them ripped away and then show up some months later on the arm of their fiancée, what do you do? These characters will have you drawn into their story and biting your nails hoping that fate couldn't be this cruel. Their story is not only one of love, instant attraction and drama it is a story to teach us how far you will go to honour your family even if it means walking away from the one person who makes you happy. It will show you sometimes the person you vowed never to be just might be what you become to have your one shot at true love. This story is witty, drama filled and steamy, it will have you apprehensive and falling so in love with these characters it will be sad to say goodbye. This is my first book by BJ Harvey but will certainly not be my last.
