Publisher Description
When the wealthy and handsome Fitzwilliam Darcy encounters the beautiful and lively Elizabeth Bennet at a small country ball, he loudly refuses to dance with her, declaring her to be merely tolerable. Fortunately for Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth has walked away and does not overhear his insult, thus snagging the thread that would have sealed her prejudice against the prideful stranger. Unexpectedly, circumstances thrust Elizabeth into the same household as Mr. Darcy, and her proximity unwittingly proves tempting, as her tantalizing wit and playfulness evoke desires that threaten to unravel his resolve against her. In this delightful re-imagining of Jane Austen's beloved classic, Pride and Prejudice, the players are the same, but the rules have changed as the dance between Darcy and Lizzy unfolds.
Book #1 in the One Thread Pulled series. Book #2, "Constant as the Sun" is targeted for release in 2014.
This is book 1 in a series.
Customer Reviews
Beautifully written
Brilliantly compelling all the way through, I was enthralled by your words and your version of the great Jane Austen’s work. Definitely worth every cent I spent on it, I can’t wait to purchase the next and see what happens to befall Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam in their season in London.
Certainly not worth any money
Not the worst but by far not the best P&P fic I have read. The plot is all over the place, the flirting is immature at best, very serious events occur and see not given the proper respect and gravity that they deserve - neither by the author nor the characters themselves - the characters make choices that make little sense to mature autonomous adults of the time, the characters are of one note - with the exception of Mary who gains a little more depth - and the same plot devices are used more than once to advance the story. I would get a refund if I could because it really was not everything that reviewers made it out to be.
