Prejudices, Second Series

This is the second part of an ongoing collection of American author H.L. Mencken's satires and social commentaries. This volume contains one of Mencken's most influential short works. Originally printed in 1917 in the New York Evening Mail, "Sahara of the Bozart" attacked the American South as the most intellectually barren region of the United States. Mencken's vitriol led to an artistic renaissance in the South when Southern writers and artists, provoked by the essay, set out to prove Mencken wrong.
