BACK HOME IN THE STATES
Jack Morgan runs and owns an international company of Private Detectives, funnily enough, simply called, "PRIVATE". Jack Moran, interestingly enough, is tall, fit, extremely wealthy, ludicrously good looking and still madly in love with his ex-wife. In the space of less than one hundred pages, one of Jack’s super cars is fire-bombed, his much-hated twin brother offers him a fortune in return for his company, his best friend’s trumped up court case begins, and two foreign but horrible and violent thugs use diplomatic immunity as a defence against in an exceedingly heinous and anti-social manner.
James Patterson has always had the knack of merging one chapter of his books into the next. He does it so well in PRIVATE: VEGAS that it is, quite literally, difficult t so stop reading. The pages simply fly by. There isn’t a huge amount of depth to the story’s characters. These boos are plot-driven action-based classics, after all. They are extremely easy to read, and “Vegas” is a great, fun experience in both e-format and traditional form. To be honest, for a change, it is good to smell the paper and feel the waxy laminated cover in my hands. And to use a book mark. Remember those? And maybe if i listen hard enough, i will be able to hear Morgan’s Lamborghini tearing up the tarmac - before it goes up in flames, that is!
So what happens? Does Jack get his girl back? Does his BFF receive justice from the law? Is there peace and redemption at last for his twin brother? And will the violent sexual predators get what they deserve from the Gods of Fate? Of course I won’t be answering any of these questions. But I will say this: James Patterson is back with a brand new adventure, which is huge fun to read and an awesome way for the reader to relax and find themselves living the high but dangerous life in Las Vegas. Why WOULDN’T you want to experience all of this for yourself? I would!
A solid four stars for this perfect fit within its own sub-genre.
