Project 1051:

Over the last year, from March 2020 to March 2021, I spent time photographing the changing seasons at my home. The house and barn sit on a one acer plot of land that abuts Livingston Park in Manchester, NH. The house was built in 1885 and parts of the property once functioned as a place to raise animals. The property evolved over time and is now home to some trees that are about 100 years old. During this last year, I wanted to take time to notice and photograph all the subtle changes that took place on the property. Admiring how the snow sticks to the trees, how the magnolia trees started to bloom, how the light filtered through the grape vines during summer nights, and how the leaves became the perfect gradient of green to red on a Fall day. The process and results of making these images were extremely grounding and personal. These images serve as a reminder to appreciate nature and all that it offers.
