When I first met Ash, I had hoped that I was meant to be his fated mate.

Unfortunately for me, he never claimed me.

I’ve been trying to resign myself to the fact that the most we’ll ever be is friends, but it’s hard.

It hurts to be close to him and not be his.

That’s why I decided to try to limit my time around him.

Which is easier said than done.

Especially because he just volunteered to act as security on my upcoming trip.
