Alabama didn’t have a good start to life. Emotionally and physically abused by her mama, Alabama spent her high school years in foster care. People let her down, time after time, and she’d learned to rely on only herself.
Christopher “Abe” Powers earned his nickname because he tolerated nothing less than absolute honesty from the people around him. Finding the bar scene stale and having watched his friend and teammate, Wolf, find the woman of his dreams, Abe was determined to find someone to share his life with too.
Alabama and Abe had no idea their paths would cross and their prayers would be answered, but like most things in life, nothing is ever as easy as it seems at first. Two words would change both their lives and they’d have to fight hard for their happy ever after.

Better than Protecting Caroline
I read both this and the previous book. I liked the plot of the previous book, but the writing is better in this one. The plot's good and while the heroines are following a pattern it's a good and an interesting pattern. Overall, I enjoyed the story.
I am loving the SEALs series. Loving Susan’s writing. Gonna keep reading this series as well as whatever series comes after these.
Hmm, can't seem to get my review in, but the short version is...
Dumbass seal who sits behind a blocked doorway in a burning building instead of trying to crowd manage the blockage clear or looking for an alternate exit... while he eyes up a girl he spoke to for 2 mins who's crawling across the room and seemingly pointing people in the direction of the alternate exit, and he STILL has to wait for her to explain there's an alternate exit when she finally finds him.
Plus, he (IMO) forces her to tell him of her tragic past, and makes all sorts of promises that he forgets about when he is told by strangers she's done something wrong and leaves her sitting in jail for days after he walked out on her after refusing to let her say a word to him AND using THE most hurtful and damaging piece of her past that she trusted him with to destroy her... but of course, he was really tired, so she forgives him for the following weeks of suffering! Grrrrrr
