Publisher Description
If you bet on horses for a living, you got to be tough and you got to have an edge. Matty’s got neither. Nineteen, flunking at uni, flunking at life, the punt is his only way out, if he can only find a way. The Cup’s his last chance.
Roy Strong is the biggest horse punter in Sydney, which means Australia, which means the world, but he knows the game is gone. He knows he needs to cash in before every last punter heads to the casino and leaves the racetrack behind. With the best jockey in his pocket, maybe he can organise some results to go his way, maybe even The Cup.
Superintendent Kathleen Harte fights organised crime with disorganised police. The muppets she’s in charge of couldn’t catch a cold, but when the phone taps of a drug dealer point Drug Squad to the racing industry, the money trail might just produce a result.
Set in the Sydney betting rings of the ‘90’s, Punt is fast and funny, climaxing, where else but at the race that stops the nation.
Customer Reviews
Highly recommend
This book is consistently hilarious. It may a bit raw for some, but a few pages in and you’ll see if you’re cut out for it. Didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend
