Doesn’t hit the mark like others
Loved the first book in the series and the other books written by this author. This one sadly just hasn’t been as enjoyable as the others.
Reasonable story arc, poorly executed
I felt like this novel was rushed. In some ways there were sentences missing that would have provided more embellishment of the environment or the characters to allow you to care for the characters. It was clear the author had backstories for the characters in mind, but it did feel like you were given three cards while the author was holding five. The story arc is interesting, but with the lack of care for the characters you’re left reading it and going, so what?
