As a golden girl of Louisville society, Alisha Shelby's childhood, meant private schools, a social life with the horsy set, and doting parents. Her father raised Alisha as the son who would inherit the family business, Econ Utilities. At an early age, Alisha sat by her father's side and learned the business from the ground up.

Kyle Talbot was ten years old when his father was killed in a horse training accident. A year later, the Earl of Chelmsford came calling and returned to England with the beautiful widow, her stable's blooded stock, and a headstrong stepson. As a man Kyle had one ambition--to prove to his stepfather that he would build his own status.
