Be still my beating heart. Bring on the next book.
I was captivated and couldn’t wait to get back to this book whenever I had to go and do something else. I read the Darkest Court series and loved those books. This book is as good, if not better. I have high hopes for the rest of the series.
The story moves along at a good pace without anything extra that doesn’t add to the story. It’s direct and has good rhythm and depth. All the characters in the story from the main two characters to the secondary ones are well fleshed out and all are individual.
I certainly liked Atlas and Cristian and totally got involved in their story. There is a lot of danger from outside sources and I swear my heart rate picked up at the end.
I’m just glad that I came across this series when I did, when all the books were published, that I don’t have to wait around for book 2 or book 3 and that I can start to read book 2 now. Like, NOW.

A beautiful slow burn
Rare Vigilance is a perfectly executed slow burn romance that is incredibly sweet and decadent. It's full of longing, resisting, aching, yet fun and full of the growing friendship and bond between Atlas and Cristian. I love MA Grant's stories and this is another that jostles right up to the top of the list - it's fine to have many number 1s, right? :) Can't wait for Book 2!
