Publisher Description
The Ravenwing stand apart from the rest of the Dark Angels Chapter – these dynamic Space Marines take to the battlefield upon steeds of adamantium and plasteel, and swoop from the skies in lightning-fast speeders to bring death to the foes of the Imperium.
When he joins their prestigious ranks, Brother Annael finds himself thrust into a whole new world of shadowy intrigue, and privy to secrets unknown to his common battle-brothers. In the wake of the conflict at Kadillus, hints of a dark conspiracy begin to emerge, and it soon becomes apparent that the Ravenwing has a sacred duty far more vital than hunting down orks...

Extremely disappointing.
I can honestly say that I've never been so disappointed and underwhelmed after reading a book and I read a lot of books.
Quality control is apparently an alien concept to the publishers and I wouldn't be surprised if the role of editor was delegated to the spell-check function of a word processing application. There were numerous errors in spelling, grammar, context and consistancy. Quite appalling for a published novel.
I feel that rating a story is somewhat subjective, however, I found it to be both poorly constructed and vexing to read. The characters in the book are very two-dimensional and lack personality while the majority of them are portrayed as impetuous, self-doubting fools. Also, there is hardly a battle in the whole book where recurring characters don't do silly things that Space Marines would probably never do.
Overall I'd say it was a terrible read and I wish I could un-read it.
