Enjoyed the book
I love this author and this series. I love the crassness of the language, it feels real and relatable. The scenes are well written and it is hard to put down the book! Plenty of zing and enough action. Some criticisms: the editing needs another go-over, minor issues, but enough to grind my gears. I also found some of the language used by the female lead felt incredulous, given that she grew up primarily non-English speaking (‘case the windows’ I think was what really stood out, it just didn’t feel right), which I noticed as I moved further into the book. I also felt that she’d think a little bit more in Greek - a bit like Luna and his Spanish. Even with these complaints it was still a great read and I am hooked on the series.

Damien and Calandra’s story was a very easy read.
The other characters who are ex defence force play a part in the storyline which is good because you get to know a bit more about them, whets the appetite for their stories which unfold in the series.
