Research On Post-Traumatic Growth: A Different Perspective On Childhood Trauma-Informed Care

There are a small number of trauma-specific interventions that have been evaluated using a rigorous scientific standard and been shown to be effective - however, the research is often based on populations who have experienced a single traumatic event rather than complex trauma. This book presents a different perspective on childhood trauma-informed care. It addresses the role of Auntie Rosie and the importance of connection in the healing process. It proves that post-traumatic growth is indeed possible through loving relationships, and it emphasizes that being Auntie Rosie can enhance this growth. We all can remember an Auntie Rosie in our life, where we felt accepted, loved, kept in someone else´s mind, and that made a big difference in our life. We too can be Auntie Rosie to another person: a child, a young person, an adult, and this might be the only thing that will give them a reason not to give up. This book presents different trauma healing perspectives and invites the reader to reflect on their own experiences and grow from them. Each of us has the capacity to heal, we need to tap the richness that lies within us, and, in creating, sustaining, and enhancing healthy relationships, we can indeed be very effective and efficient wounded healers.
