River Rising

An Air Force Major finds herself assigned to investigate the murder of another female officer. She learns to her dismay that her "best" witness is an MIT-educated, one-time hockey superstar...and an ex-convict. His respect for law and order is severely lacking, as is his desire to help the Major. But as she investigates the crime, she learns that her witness isn't as cynical as he likes to pretend, and their relationship wanders from the professional to the personal....
